Owners: Clarence and Joyce Kennedy

Owner/Director: Joyce Kennedy

Mrs. Joyce has been the owner and director of Deep Run Child Care Center since 1993. She has taken many Early Childhood classes throughout her career and graduated in May 2006 from Mount Olive College with a B.S. degree in Early Childhood Education. Mrs. Joyce serves as the site administrator and oversees the educational programs and standards offered by the center.

Assistant Director: Marilyn Kennedy

Mrs. Marilyn is the daughter-in-law of Mrs. Joyce and Mr. Clarence. She has a B.S. degree in Biology Secondary Education and taught in the public schools for 16 years. Mrs. Marilyn began working at DRCCC in June of 2006 as the assistant director. She is responsible for implementing the programs and standards and working directly with the teachers and parents on a daily basis.

Administrative Assistant: Ruth Turner

Mrs. Ruth takes care of the administrative duties in the office. She answers the phones, takes messages, runs copies for the teachers, etc. She also takes care of the teachers' work schedules and lunch breaks.

Food Manager

Our Cook has 20 years experience in the public schools as food program manager. Her duties include preparing breakfast, lunch and afternoon snack.

She is also responsible for placing the milk and food order each week. Mrs. Myra works closely with the parents of infants to make sure their bottles are prepared according to the parents' instructions. They also work together when introducing cereal and baby food. Mrs. Myra makes out the weekly menu to include the necessary portions of nutrients mandated by the Child and Adult Care Food Program.

Teacher Qualifications

Lead Teacher - All lead teachers must have their Early Childhood Credentials and 12 additional semester hours in Early Childhood Education with 2 years experience. All lead teachers should be working towards an associate degree in Early Childhood Education.

Teachers - All teachers should have their Early Childhood Credentials and 6 additional semester hours in Early Childhood Education with 2 years experience.
